About Sean Breslin.net

This is my personal website about adventuring into the mountainous regions of central Honshu and occasionally Hokkaido in rural Japan. I also visit Australia and the U.K. from time to time. Over the last couple of years I’ve found myself switching from constantly cycling and bike packing to gravitating more towards hiking and walking, although I still ride regularly for fitness. That change is reflected on this blog.

Two things that scare me: the thought of regretting things I could have done but didn’t while still healthy and physically capable, and not having enough money in retirement. The first of those is what motivates me to get outside as much as possible.

You can find most things from the menus on the lefthand side of this page or from the pulldown menu if you’re viewing on a smartphone.

I’ve archived all the bike packing related posts but you can still find them at the bottom of the menu.

Some of my more popular post include:

Curve GXR – One Year Review

Toyoura Bay, Kihoku

Tōkaidō – Walking Arimatsu to Atsuta Shrine

Mt. Fuji Sunrise Hike – Eboshidake in the Minami Alps

I don’t do most social media anymore – although I do run a very basic YouTube channel – but you can find me on Yamap.

I also have a monthly newsletter, Restless and you can also subscribe separately to this blog by entering your email at the very bottom of the main menu.

Feel free to get in touch.
